It's only Tuesday, but my week has got off to a problematic start.
Firstly, I am suffering from constipation. Three days' worth, which may not sound bad to some, but for someone like me who goes to the bathroom up to 20 times a day, this is not good. I have spent most of today on the toilet with nothing happening but a whole lot of pain.
It's so bad now that eating anything makes me feel nauseated; even sipping water is having an adverse effect on my stomach. I need to drink water, though, to ease the constipation.
Anyways, tomorrow I will also receive my first self-injecting dose of Amjevita. My appointment with the clinician is for next week.
Friday is blood draw week, but I'm not sure if I should have started taking the medicine that accompanies the Amjevita or not. I'm guessing not since they need a starting point. Next Monday is chest X-ray day ahead of starting the Amjevita.
I'm also having to budget for taxis to and from the regional hospital for both tests.
The only good news is that the council have agreed to replace my gate, which was so rotten that strong winds knocked off the panel with the lock. I had been trying to save to replace it, but another tenant mentioned that because it opens onto the street, the council is responsible. After 45-minute-long holding queues for days on end, I managed to get through to them today. I told them there was no rush, just so long as it was fixed before the winter winds arrived. At least that's a weight off my mind.
I really need to get this constipation cleared before Friday, so that I can leave the house with just my usual chronic pain.
I'm so over Crohn's disease.
